Handcrafted items made by members of Faith Circle and some other members of the church will be available for sale at the Country Store during the quilt show. The Country Store is located on the stage in the Fellowship Hall. Proceeds support UMW missions work locally and globally. There will be three other vendors selling their wares at the quilt show (Shannon Baptista, Pat Hove, and Kelly Strohein).
Caroline Earhart is our featured quilter at the show. She will have several of her quilts on display and will be available to answer any questions.
Caroline Earhart has been a quilter for 30 years and a member of AVQ for more than 20 years. She enjoys making Community Quilts and has always loved and appreciated quilts made from traditional patterns.
In recent years, she has more often been drawn to making what she calls Legacy Quilts. These are the quilts we make for family and close friends that are so deeply personal and special that they are treasured forever. They almost always tell a story. The quilts need not be perfect in their workmanship or design; but they are so ingrained with love and meaning that they will be cherished and used for always.
The Opportunity Quilt is the made by Shirley Butherus called “Sunshine Stars”. Tickets are one ticket for $1.00, 6 tickets for $5.00, 15 tickets or $10.00 and 30 tickets for $20.00. It only takes one ticket for an opportunity to win this beautiful quilt.
A Quilt of Valor presentation will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 6 during the quilt show. Please come to the show to see how these military veterans are honored for their service to our country and presented with a beautiful quilt.
