March 25—Palm/Passion Sunday
10:00 am Grand processional with the children waving palms. The congregation will be singing Hosannas in remembrance of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Jesus has come to celebrate the traditional Passover meal with his disciples. The music will reflect the joy and triumph of the entry into Jerusalem but soon will take on a more somber tone as we hear of the betrayal, arrest, and trial of Jesus.
11:00 am Children’s Easter egg coloring in Fellowship Hall
March 29—Maundy Thursday
6:30 pm Seder dinner in the Fellowship Hall. Celebrates the dinner that Jesus and the Disciples shared before his arrest and conviction. We will have a meal in the tradition of the Christian celebration of the event and is part of a service that includes communion and ritual washing of our neighbor’s hands. This is truly a spiritual event that should be part of your Easter worship experience.
March 30—Good Friday
7:00 pm Service in the Sanctuary. Service will include a formal walk of the stations of the cross. The stations of the cross commemorate the stages of Jesus’ final hours on earth as he takes the long journey to Golgotha. We will leave the Sanctuary in silence and use Saturday as a day of rest and reflection of our Lenten journey.
April 1—Easter Sunday
8:00 am Early morning service in the Chapel. This service will include Communion as our Lenten fast is broken after 40 days.
8:45 am Breakfast hosted by United Methodist Men in the Fellowship Hall. Start your day of joy as the risen Christ fills our hearts and souls with gladness. Breakfast will be served until approximately 9:45 am to give you time to move into the Sanctuary.
10:00 am Worship in the Sanctuary
11:00 am Easter egg hunt for children on the front lawn (weather permitting). You can also have your picture taken in front of the flower cross. Please consider bringing cut flowers or blooming vines from your home gardens to place in the cross before worship. This is a great way to reflect the beauty of the season.
