05/09/20 maryalice Comments (0)

Our congregation is blessed to be the first and oldest continuing church in Castro Valley. Founded in 1931 as the Castro Valley Union Church, we became the Castro Valley Community Methodist Church in October 1945.

We are celebrating our UMC 75th diamond jubilee on October 7, 2020. Beginning in May and culminating in October, we will reflect with gratitude on the generations who came before us, while joyously anticipating the years ahead. We welcome your participation in preparing to showcase the Common Threads that unite us as a congregational family. We hope to share the traditions, music, and history of our founding generations throughout the year. We are seeking involvement from all generations to weave together the pieces of our rich history, and will collect photos, recipes, and memories from past and current members.
