Welcome to Castro Valley United Methodist Church!
You are welcome in our congregation. We hope that you will join us for worship!
What time is worship?
We have one Sunday worship celebration at 10:00 am. Following worship, there is time of fellowship where coffee and other refreshments are served. This is a great time get to know one another and learn more about church events and ministries. Quite often, we have lunch after worship that is provided by various groups in the church.
What is worship like?
Our worship celebration will bring you into God’s presence in many familiar Methodist ways along with many diverse expressions of praise and worship as well. We commonly sing familiar hymns and praise music from The Faith We Sing, have special music from our Chancel Choir, Tongan Choral Ensemble, various solos, and handbells. Our services are filled with familiar liturgy, passionate sharing in prayer, and reading God’s Word. We enjoy relevant preaching that provides strength for each week and growth in God’s grace.
Can I bring my children?
Of course! Our church is a fantastic place for kids and youth. Nursery-aged kids can be dropped off in our safe and comfortable nursery before worship, or you may keep them with you. We don’t mind a little crying and noise! Kids happen—and they should be celebrated! You want you to feel comfortable with them in our church. We have an open back area that is easy to walk back and forth, soothing your child, while still able to listen to worship.
Children are invited early into the worship service to come forward for a brief children’s sermon with the Pastor. Following this fun time, the kids are invited to go to Sunday School with equipped and caring teachers. Your kids may remain with you in worship as well, of course. They may be picked up from their classes following worship. High School youth are invited to remain in worship.
